About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with children (ages 3 to 6 years) in Children's House.
Follow the Montessori philosophy.
Lead parent-teacher conferences.
Work collaboratively with other teachers in the classroom.
Willing to work in an environment that uses four different languages (Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and English)
Communicate with administration about classroom duties and progress.
Work Environment:
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Physically able to work in an environment with low shelves and tables.
Needs to be able to kneel, sit on the floor, sit in low chairs, etc.
Must be able to work with multiple staff and children, under moderate stress levels.
Requirements
Associate or Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. The equivalent in training/experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must have at least 6 ECE units and be continuing in courses.
AMI Primary certification. (AMS certifications will also be considered).
A deep understanding of Montessori education.
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (and must know Traditional Characters).
Enthusiasm in working in an international school setting and collaborating with young children.
First Aid certified is a plus.
Ability to work and communicate with colleagues.
Simple computer skills or willingness to learn.
Attention to detail, organization skills , and problem solving skills are desired.
